Beautiful photos. What is it about looking into someone's window from the darkness?
I especially like the window with golden lights inside, and the next one - golden meatballs!

Jessica Rose

Lovely photographs...the meatballs look good! ;)

You know I have been following you for about three years now. I have watched in wonder how that delightful little girl has grown. I have never commented before because you get so many comments, but I have to tell you that I find just about all your posts as just so much fun and insightful. That little girl of yours is beautiful, and I especially loved the picture of her crinkling her nose last week. You guys are blessed, but I know you know that. Love to read your blog and you have even lead me to other wonderful sites. Blessings to you and yours in the New Year. Cindy

Oh, my Mae Mae has that little plaid dress from Gap! I feel so flattered that Amelia the fashionista has the same one! Her wardrobe is like none other. :)

Laurie

I love your fog pictures! I absolutely adore these gray days. I build a fire, light every candle in the house (they are all battery ones) and enjoy the twinkle lights and atmosphere.

I didn't have Swedish Meatballs though. That might have made things perfect. I shall rectify that immediately.

Siobhan

Seriously, you watch Judge Judy?? I always thought you were amazing. Now you've confirmed it.

Happy Christmas!

As a British Expat living in New England, I enjoy looking at your rainy Portland photos. Makes me homesick in a good way!

I was downtown yesterday too.. wasn't it awesome? Has Mimi seen Santa yet? I just did a post.. we had lunch at the Brasserie Montmarte. We saw the movie "Philomena" and it was good! Then a stroll around the square. You were on the move.. I think I saw 23rd Ave too, right? Do you have any fun restaurants to recommend?

City Christmas!
I love home, and cozy attractions, but it's always a thrill to take in a city day, with lights, and the hubbub of seasonal delights. It feels invigorating to take in the sights and sounds of everyone's holiday efforts and reflections... much like the pleasure and inspiration of blogs, like yours, at this shiny time of year. I cannot sign off before saying how much I love that earnest and focused expression on Mimi, with Mr. Potatohead's hardhat. You must be having the dearest Christmas!

Linda

As always, the pictures are gorgeous! Love Mimi's tongue halping her work. The pics of the woods remind me of the outdoor shots in Grimm!

Kiss that little doll for me!

Tis the season! Beautiful photos of lovely times.

LOL I am watching Judge Judy right now. That is hilarious! I love the pics of mimi with Mr. PotatoHead's hat. She is so intently focused on what she's doing there!! Looks like you guys are having a wonderful time. <3

melissa f

look at those girls. (she needs to school T in the way of hair pretties and ponytails.)

Eileen

I love Mr. Potato Head..what fun! Glad to see a relic imagination toy. Beautiful pictures!

leanne

this is such a special place to visit....one of my most loved spots. always fills my heart with what it needs. xoxo

The pictures of the forest are amazing...just how a forest should look. Is that lighted tree the same as the one in the forest? It sure looks like it!
The children are adorable as usual and the lights of the city are enviable. There's no place like the hustle bustle of the city at Christmas. Nancy Mitford books look very interesting. I've never heard of her but she now resides in my Amazon Wishlist. Enjoy your holiday....it goes by fast.

Gracie

After meeting longtime friends for lunch last Sat. I turned the wrong way on Sandy Blvd. and almost made it to downtown Portland before I figured out I was lost. I like the pictures of what you found in the city much better than what I saw before turning around to head to Boring :) I'm glad you are having happy days...even with Judge Judy...really, Alicia? I should check to see what I have been missing :) Merry Christmas xx

Maureen Smith

I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoy your blog! What amazing pictures. Thank you sharing!

Christine

Wonderful photos of the forest. I'm not sure how to explain it, but for half a second I was pulled into the picture and suddenly dizzy. The composition is really, really good.

Always read and love your blog but only comment once in a while - but today I just had to say how much I love it that you love Christmas Pudding - I read it for the first time maybe 20 years ago and now I read it (along with a select group of other books) at Christmastime every year - and I laugh out loud every single time! Just love your photos and your sweet little one - I live in Florida now but when I view your photos of the fog and rain and snow, I can smell and feel the sensations. Thank you so much for your wonderful sensory blog!

Suse

Is that little Truly next to Amelia?!

Happy Christmas to you and yours Alicia.

Amanda

Your meatballs look delicious! Thanks for linking back to my recipe :)
