I have a new camera. It's a Canon EOS 60D. And a new lens. That's an EF 100mm f2.8L Macro IS USM. Not like I know what any of that means. (Well, I know what some of it means.) Very excited. These are some of my first pictures with it. I'm really excited. :-)

Ooooh, you're going to love it! I have the 50D and a 1.4 50mm lens! And after a lot of years I recently took a class and am finally shooting manually 100% of the time. It's like I've just bought a new camera!! Enjoy yours!! Love the pictures!

Gorgeous shots. A friend of mine would go outside every day in the late afternoon when everything was bathed in the prettiest light and just meditate and enjoy the outdoors. She called it Yellow Time and the name and ceremony of it have stayed with me many years later.

Oh, and this was the class I took! VERY good! Highly recommend!!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with the new capabilities :)

I am excited for you...and to see the magic you'll create with it!

Many congratulations on your new camera and lens...your gift and hobby is our GIFT. I love your pictures..even if I didn't love your writing style I would be 'tuning in' just to enjoy your 'happy day' we're going to get even BIGGER AND BETTER photos. smile
I also wanted to mention that I am seriously considering painting my living room the same color of blue as yours..because I am highly influenced by Scandinavian design and I always 'appreciate' your choices. My drapes are white and my walls and trim are currently the whitest white you can favorite color: WHITE Of course, my favorite 'duo' is red and if I had the blue walls with trimming in white...then I could introduce practically everything else I already have. (because it would be a shame to have to buy something new) Okeh, the REAL REASON I'm writing is to sure and take new pictures with your new camera and lens of your Corgi Puppy. She's the prettiest Corgi I have ever seen. Honest!!

love your pictures! i just got a canon 60d a few months ago, and i love it too!

Before I scrolled down to the caption, I thought, "Damn, those are good pictures."

Lovely photos! Enjoy the camera.

Gorgeous, and I'm loving your format for larger photo viewing. :)

Wow! Looks like a fine camera - and behind the lens someone with a very special talent.

Oh, what beautiful lovely light! It reminds me of autumn :) congrats on the new camera!~

Now we will get even prettier photos! Will you take a class or try to conquer the manual?

Alicia, I am a happy girl, I finished my sampler on July 31 and now will start to press it. Did you get little CM and kitters' hair on yours while you worked? Is the best method to use some tape to lift my little dachshunds' souvenir hairs off?

Ah! Sweet! We have the same camera! I am learning... but initial experiences are good. I am hoping you share whatever you learn, because personal suggestions and tips always work better for me than manuals. Congratulations!

I have to say, I am inspired by these photos. Not just by your camera (jealous much?), but of the simple beauty you capture. I want my home to be a place where I can just pick up my camera and go with it, and it turn out as lovely as these.

Fabulous photos! Have fun with the new camera!

Oh my goodness...they are beautiful, the light is beautiful...can't wait for more !

Congratulations on the new camera and lens! I've always enjoyed your blog so much. It's such a pleasure to read and your photos are equally enjoyable. I can't wait to see more images. Have fun with your new camera!

Ooh, color me jealous! I have been saving my pennies for my first big girl camera (a Canon T3i, I am thinking...) and I can hardly wait for the day I can splurge :-)

Your photography has always been so beautiful, I can't wait to see how the new equipment adds another dimension to it! Congrats :-)
