On Sunday morning we took a walk with the corgyn.
The neighborhood is starting to sprout.
More hellebore.
This is the sidewalk of a gardener. It's one of my favorites in the neighborhood.
Tiny teepee for a rose.
Can't remember what this is called. . . . Red-flowering current? (Thanks, Krista!)
Through the fence, violet leaves and a bottle border, topped with glass pebbles. Here's how to make one (thanks, Em!).
There can't be too many mossy stone walls in the world.
Another plum-tree allee. Every other block, it seems. Not complaining about that.
This house always reminds me of Madeline's in Paris.
Waiting for warmer weather.
Good walk, girls. Good doggies.

Oh my gosh! You walked by my favorite house in Portland. I've had fantasies about my perfect life in that house since I was a little girl. Sigh.
Thanks for the lovely mossy photos. So so different from the saguaros I saw today.

It looks beautiful! I officially hate living in Florida :( I love your corgis, so cute!

I think it's a red flowering current - a native plant to the Pacific Northwest. Mine hasn't bloomed yet here in Vancouver where Mother Nature got us good on April 1st with snow!!! Clover Meadow should have an agent.

So so lovely. Portland is lyrical. And the puppy faces, oh the puppy faces, as always.

What a lovely area to take a walk in. How wonderful to see Spring at work. I'm just glad that the last piles of snow are dwindling.

Gorgeous...it's just as I remember the last time I visited my Aunt...and you're right...the house looks exactly like Madeline's!

Thank you for taking us along on your springtime walk. Portland in the spring reminds me of east Tennessee (from whence I am writing) minus the mountains in the background. Many flowers and lots of sweet damp earth. Praise God for the changing seasons.

OHMYGOD, so beautiful. I want to live there. It still sucks (sorry, it's the only word that fits!) here in Chicago. I DO know that it's all moving our way, but still....it's been such a long winter. Just purchased tickets to Portland! I sooooo can't wait! Love and hugs and gratitude for the wonderful photos of sweet Andrew...I know, I know, I should be looking at the puppers....but, nothing beats that man/child! Even walking away!

I took almost the same walk today on the way home from my daughter's preschool. My daughter loves the house with the stone faces in the rock wall. And I totally stopped right at that second picture. That plant is so pretty. It is really cool to see my walk through your eyes. Thanks!

Here in Berlin we have spring but for the most part no one uses those little spaces in the sidewalk for gardening space. It is so sad—just dirt!—I miss walks that include garden ogling. Your photos make me thing of Minneapolis, which also has it's share of little bungalows and 'boulevard' gardens. Thank you for taking us on the walk with you!

Golly, it looks lovely, especially the blossom and how nice that everyone makes such an effort to make even the pavements look their best. There are many many mossy stone walls in England!
