Camellia, leaving.

Like lilypads.
Petalwalk, with foxglove fronds.

Shy-lings.

My neighbor's tree, an umbrella of cherry-blossom froth.

And her backyard, from the sidewalk, through the fence.

Another neighbor, and a breezeway gate to a cherry-foam explosion.

Clover in clover.
My miracles, clematis.
How beautiful your photos are!! And I love the little glimpse of Clover in the background there. She sure is a pretty dog!

Your neighbor's yard is a vision! That is the feeling I want in my yard.

Beautiful. Now would you like me to show you my pictures of spring in Minnesota? Dirty snow, small buds on trees, uncleaned up gardens? Really it's glorious :-) HA!

Wow such vivid striking pictures! I was just looking at my brown grass this morning and dreaming of a green lawn . . .

Sigh. I'm moving to your neck of the woods (sort of...Seattle area) this summer, so one day soon I'll be able to partake in your beautiful Northwestern spring. As a southern New-Englander originally, I miss the magnolia blossoms and walks dusted with petals more than I can say. I'm trying to appreciate my late-winter Minnesota experience of the moment, but you make it so hard, in such a delicious way!

I just salivated on my computer. Seriously.
Wow, what a fairy tale. It certainly isn't my reality here in Canada, with towering, dirty snow banks (if they're melting, it's imperceptible) and nary a speck of colour in sight. Again I ask myself why the hell I live here... (Me, bitter?)

Thanks for sharing...I enjoyed that virtual walk very much! I have a few flowers on my porch...but I they do now provide what I would invision as a fragrant and happy walk!
Cheers,
Paula

As I am reading your blog it is snowing out my window (I'm in Portland too). Your pictures give me hope that spring will return. The falling snow flakes are pretty but I'd rather see them in December or January, my bones are ready for some warmer temps and sunshine. Thank you again for the beauty you share with us each day. Your post certainly brightened my morning :) The picture of the cherry blossoms in the seventh picture down was stunning. I can feel the crisp air on my face and the smell of all the flowers!!

and this is while your glasses were fogged up and dripping with rain? they came out darn good i'd say! it is that artists eye you have..even when half blinded by fog, rain, snow or sleet you can 'feel' the best picture coming round the corner. i love how you can even make the browned out camellia blossoms look heaven sent. beautiful alicia...you put my own frowsy Avalon to shame with your capture of the 'hood.

Mmmmm, we still have plenty of drab until we see color like that. I'd love it if my yard looked like any of that now, or ever for that matter!

You and my friend in Washington, DC showed me pics of cherry blossoms. I don't get to see those here, but I love seeing them nonetheless. Thanks for bringing Spring back to me. xxoo

Alicia,
Thank you for the beautiful preview of Spring. We are still shoveling snow in Spokane (with more to come this weekend) as it continues to fall almost each day. Spring is limited to my Snowdrops which are in blossom. All else is just a vague hint of what is to come as daffies are only above the ground a couple of inches. Sigh....

Oh such pretty pictures! I especially love the petalwalk one. I am trying not to be too jealous since it is snowing (!!!) here this morning. Oh, March in Massachusetts. At least we get pancake breakfasts and delicious maple syrup from local sugar shacks. Sigh...

These photos just warmed my heart. It looks like your neighbors have some amazing yards! Gotta love that. Have a great weekend!

i subscribe to your blog through google reader, and the display kind of wonks things up a little. today it decided to lump your photo captions together, into a strange and lovely little poem:
Camellia, leaving
Like lilypads.
Petalwalk, with foxglove fronds
Shy-lings.
My neighbor's tree, an umbrella of cherry-blossom froth.
And her backyard, from the sidewalk, through the fence.
A breezeway gate to a cherry-foam explosion.
Clover in clover.
My miracles, clematis.
Neat!
