Little House and the Big Woods
She knew we were going somewhere good, so he gave me the puppy-dog eyes and begged to bring her with. I can't resist these two and their four eyes (six, really — he wears glasses), so I said okay, c'mon, let's do this thing people.
We headed out to Multnomah Falls, along with half of Portland. Don't you love that you can get coffee at even our natural attractions?
It's so, so green there. A million different greens in each square foot.
It's what an ant must feel like, making its pilgrimage across the forest floor below a cathedral of green.
The spire.
Here's the house I want to live in when I grow up. It's on the side of the old highway, just sitting there right on the road, looking pretty. It's just sitting right there! It's the cutest house in the world.
Man, that's a cute house.
If you read this blog via Bloglines, you'll probably notice that I've been trying to re-categorize all my entries. I'm hoping this will make it easier for people to find things here. I'm also going to make my existing FAQ more comprehensive and hopefully assuage some questions that I get asked regularly. I worked on re-categorizing things for several hours last night — it's amazing how the days, meals, projects, and places add up. I'm only a fraction of the way done (just warning you — sorry!). This is the Columbia River Gorge from Crown Point, and you'll now find it under "Portland and Oregon."
And just for good measure, "Pets."
Though maybe I should have a category for just plain old "Too Stinkin' Cute for Words."

I was 18 when I saw Multnomah - and for a girl from landlocked-no-natural-lakes-no-whitewater Kansas it was the most exotic, lush, beautiful sight ever!
Thanks for your (as always) lovely blog.
You're right, that dog is just too darned cute!
best,

We live about 4 hours South of you and oh how I love the gorge! Except of course in the winter time with the snow and ice on the way to Walla Walla ; o
Your blog is my *favorite* place to come. In fact, I have withdrawls if I don't get here every day!
And Audrey's eyes are mezmerizing : )

Such beautiful photos! The green of the tree/road shot made me jaw drop. Sooooo good for my heart.
Of course the last photo is adorable. It tickles me that his kiss made her tongue stick out. :)

That house in "too stinkin' cute", but not as cute as Audrey!
Your new camera takes the most amazing pictures. Now I am jealous. I bought mine last summer and it does not put out the same quality. Maybe that can go on next year's list of things to buy before we go to St. Croix!

Okay, and when you live in that house, may I please have a cottage nearby with a pathway to your back door?? Such gorgeous pictures, what a beautiful place!! ( and that pup is too cute for words!)

What beautiful pictures. We were up there on Sunday as well with loads of other people. Amazing how many people there truly are around here. Did you go to the Rose Gardens by any chance? In a couple weeks it'll be better but Monday you could barely get close to the roses with all the people. They were actually bringing people up by the bus-load. I'm being literal with that last sentence. Bus after bus. But the smells from some of those roses made me forget everyone around me.

I have a confession to make on my first comment to your blog. A confession that I just uttered to my sister, who shares an office with me; "I am in love with a stranger's dog." I really am! She is just the cutest little thing and I love it when you post pics of her. Of course, I'm also in love with your ripple afghan! Anyways, thanks for sharing your beautiful home, pets and crafts with all of us. And give Audrey a belly rub for me.

Wow. Those green green green pictures made my heart pound. With -- what?... love and awe and joy and envy.
Love Auds too! The little pink tongue of contentment.

I love that dog! It says a lot for Audrey's cuteness that she rivals the picture of the waterfall!

*sigh* Beautiful pictures, lovely post. I am especially taken with the green, green canopy of trees down the road. Thank you.
My dog used to look at me with the same expression that Audrey is showing in that first picture -- she's been gone since January and I do miss her so!
