Kid and Kitty
Did you know that one can crochet with a giant Shrinky-Dink ring on one's finger? I have proof. A second small granny square made by my apprentice and her assistant.
Make that "assistants" plural. All manner of critters, animate and in-, are interested.
And not so much.
Despite our better efforts.
Which cracks us up.

How adorable!!!!

Love, love love the pictures of your niece! The favorite has to be the last one! Smiles!
We have a cat like yours, Catapult, with an attitude and gorgeous green eyes. Lastly, I am learning to crochet, iIdo feel like all fingers..frozen ones.

Gotta love it. What could be better? Crochet, shrinky dink ring, horse and a cat, along with a smiling kid. Now just throw in some chocolate..... heaven. Your niece is too cute. I cannot wait until Em is this age (well, I can, but you know what I mean!)

Seeing pictures of your niece makes me nostalgic for about 20 years ago when I had little girls at home. Sigh. She's a cutie, Alicia, and I hope you tell her so!

Awwwww!!
These are the days she will remember for the rest of her life. XOXO to you for giving her such precious memories.

Being an aunt is the best thing I have ever done in my life. I have great memories of just such a day as you had with your niece. All the way up to and including prom dresses. Now they are both in college and I am no longer the COOL aunt, I am just no longer cool at all. I do hope the pendulum swings back someday.

love the gap-toothed smile.
I said it last time you posted about the two of you crocheting- so jealous!
I'm also all teary reading the comments about little girls now grown up, and little girls close to aunties. My special aunties are far from me and I miss them so!

I just had tell you what a gift you are giving your niece. I had a very special aunt, like you. The memories, love and connectiveness you are passing on to her will carry her through to adulthood. Every child needs a special "other" in their life, those people really help shape them, and in some cases keep them from going a wrong direction. I say that remembering that I always thought oh if I do "that" what will my auntie think if she finds out.
Sorry for the long comment it is just so touching to see how much love you give to her and I am sure receive in return.

Your neice is too cute. My neice just turned 27...how time flies. Love your new banner. It took a while to load on my Mac; must be a large file. Is it 72 dpi? If it's much higher, it can get pokey. (Sorry for being so nosey. I'm a former graphic designer, so I can't help myself!)

Lovely pics (and the flowers in previous post too). I adore that look of crochet concentration on her face, utterly absorbed. So good to have such assistants. x

Delurking to say that I love your blog! It's gorgeous, as are all of your creations.
I'm so glad you are spending this time with your niece. She will treasure these memories.

Too fun! I'm due to start a new project. Perhaps I'll use a hook this time, instead of sticks. Your projects make me want to go back to crocheting for a while!
